Dear co workers,

The administration of our company, which is appointed by the Government - as we all know - has decided to proceed in secret with the purchase of new IT package solution.

Therefore, they asked "Planet" consultancy company (whose General Director seems to be the wife of the General Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Mr. Plaskovitis, and whose second largest shareholder is the National Bank of Greece), to proceed to the evaluation of proposals submitted by specific companies. The request for proposals was not done through a public call of interest· on the contrary, certain firms were approached. Was it a coincidence is that "Planet" was selected as a consultancy for the procurement of an IT solution system for Agriculture Insurance Company, where the exact same five company proposals were preferred.

In order to document our company's needs the administration requested the directors to record the needs of each department. Based on those needs an evaluating datasheet - in English - with 1000 rows and very specialized technical terms was formed by the consultancy company. Overall, each spreadsheet consists of about 1000 rows per applicant IT company, which makes a total of 5.000 rows. Certain colleagues are now asked to evaluate this datasheet on a scale from 1 to 4, in an extremely short period of time , that is by the end of August.

All the above raise some questions:

Why is the evaluation of the proposals compulsorily done in English while the original record of business needs was performed in Greek?

Why the administration hasn't requested an evaluation of the five applicant companies' proposals in real time data and performance of the IT package solution?

Is it true that there is a particular preference for a company which is associated with Lamprakis Press Holdings (ΔΟΛ) and is related to ΠΑΣΟΚ?

Why a public call of interest wasn't preferred?

In the past our company has paid a large amount of money to external IT solution packages that in the end proved to be both inadequate and insufficient and had a negative effect on our company's business as a hole.

We stress that our company's IT department has employees with both the knowledge as well as the experience to carry through such a task and create from scratch a custom software solution or even customize a ready to take packaged software in order to create a compatible and competitive IT system.

Προφανώς και είναι επιλογή μας να κυκλοφορήσουμε στα Αγγλικά την ανακοίνωση της παράταξής μας μπας και την διαβάσουν εκεί στην Διοίκηση.

Κάποιοι φαίνεται ότι έχουν δεί την Εταιρία μας σαν μπανανία. Ότι μπορούν να κάνουν ότι θέλουν, όποτε θέλουν και όπως θέλουν. Ότι η διαφάνεια χρησιμοποιείται μόνο εκεί που τους βολεύει. Ότι οι χρόνοι χρησιμοποιούνται κατά το δοκούν. Ότι αναζητούν άλλοθι στους εργαζόμενους για αποφάσεις που έχουν ήδη παρθεί. Ότι η Ελληνική γλώσσα τους είναι ξένη. Ότι νοιώθουν πιο οικεία τα Αγγλικά ή τα Αμερικάνικα.

Αλλά δυστυχώς για μας έχουν διοριστεί σε σε Εταιρία που είναι ακόμα Ελληνική. Η Goldman Sachs ή η Lehman Brothers δεν τους έχει κάνει πρόταση να εργαστούν εκεί, ακόμα.
